A simple backup routine for a small VPS

Back up the site files, the Nginx config and the list of installed packages. A tarball of /var/www and /etc/nginx is usually enough for a small static site.

Keep two copies in different places and test a restore once. A backup you have never restored is only a guess.

Automate it with a weekly cron job, and keep the retention short so the disk does not fill up.
